Vicari Joaquim Fuster
There's miles and miles of pedestrian walkway along here in the Portitxol district of Palma Mallorca, with expansive sea views all the way. We found the area altogether charming, imagined winning the lottery and buying one of these original fisherman's houses. That was then. These days the barrio is almost chic. Lots of people have had the same idea, but we would still buy here if we could.

Isle of Barra
The bench is up at the loch on the Hebredian Isle of Barra. Sitting there the thoughts going through ones mind are..." Midges..midges..midges..bloody dam bloodsucking miniature monsters!"

The Grand Hotel
The Grand Hotel is Lluis Domenech i Montaner's Modernista masterpiece in Palma Mallorca. Since its construction in 1903 the building has had a chequered history. These days it houses the Fundacio la Caixa cultural centre. Some of the very best touring art exhibitions are displayed here.
A Spanish garden
Before I finally left England to live in Mallorca I regularly listened to Manuel de Falla's composition " Nights in the gardens of Spain." I longed be away from North London, which always seemed to be dark, cold, wet and dreary. I sit here and remember the music. It's not night time but it is how I envisaged those gardens to look.
La Seu
I sat here after taking you to the airport. I imagined I saw your plane overhead leaving Mallorca. The timing would have been about right and the orange coloured tail convinced me that it was the Easy Jet flight you were on. My heart was heavy with sadness.
